Poverty headcount ratio at national poverty lines (% of population)¶
Indicator id: poverty_headcount_ratio · Unit: % · Coverage: 1995-2022
Percentage of the population living below the national poverty line, as defined by each country's own statistical office (for Nepal, the NLSS-derived line).

Caveats¶
National poverty lines are not comparable across countries (each is set relative to that country's own consumption norms); use poverty_headcount_ratio only for Nepal's own trend, not for cross-country comparison. Reported only in the years Nepal ran an NLSS survey (irregular cadence, not annual) -- verified live, most recent value 20.3% (2022).
